our charity

last year we have supported Naomi House and Jacksplace children's hospice, they have agreed to come back this year and sell their cards and gifts with the proceeds going to the foundation.

This year they are trying to raise £4 million so they can make improvements around the hospice.

They would like to

1. A new spiritual area providing an opportunity for remembrance and reflection. Leading out on to a roof terrace looking over the beautiful garden.

2. A new bridge linking the two hospices allowing them to share their high spec facilities, but also easing the transition made by children as they move from Naomi House to Jacksplace.

3. Our new, modern kitchen will be much bigger allowing more staff and volunteers to help with the preparation of delicious meals for the our families.

4. Currently our dining area is used for activities, games and giving medication, but our new spacious dining area will be set apart for family meals and conversation.

5. We will make the existing bedrooms bigger and add three new bedrooms, all with ventilators and piped oxygen, helping us care for the increasingly complex needs of growing children with all the medical equipment they bring with them when they stay.

6. We will have new bigger bathrooms, with extra space for the children, families and nursing team. There will be enough space for parents to join the care team and won’t have to miss out on the splashing and giggling at bath time!

7. Relocated to the quieter end of the building, our new Butterfly bereavement suite will offer families the private space they need to say their farewells to their child with emotional, spiritual and practical support on hand.

8. We will have a new suite of rooms to be used in emergencies or when a child is approaching the end of their life. These rooms will increase the number of rooms available and we will no longer have to use standard bedrooms to provide this specialist care.

9. Our updated parent accommodation will include lift access, allowing children to see where their mum, dad, brothers and sisters stay when they’re here.

10. The heart of the hospice will be our new spacious communal area, with bigger dedicated rooms for art, music and messy play.

11. New entrance foyer just for families, to provide a warm welcome when they arrive for their stay.
